Optimal Scheduling of User-Side Energy Storage Aggregation Based on Cooperative Alliance

In order to cope with the increasing integration of renewable energy into the power system, a significant number of distributed user-side energy storage systems (ESS) have been deployed to enhance the flexibility of the distribution system. However, these ESSs face challenges such as limited individual capacities that fall below the market access threshold and declining returns due to the presence of disorderly competition. To address the aforementioned issues, this paper proposes an optimal scheduling strategy of user-side energy storage aggregation (ESA) based on cooperative alliance. By aggregating small-capacity ESSs, ESA can participate in more market services, while the cooperative alliance framework can effectively unify the decision-making goals within the ESA. A case study is conducted with three user-side ESSs in a distribution network in Zhejiang. The results indicate that the proposed ESA optimal scheduling strategy markedly enhances the revenue-generating capacity of user-side ESS while circumventing the economic losses associated with disorderly competition among ESS individuals.
